A southbound section of the M9 between Kilcullen and Athy has been closed due to a collision.
The incident happened between Junction 2 and Junction 3 before 1pm today.
Traffic is being diverted away from the scene.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) advised motorists in the area to drive with care and to expect delays.
Two lanes in the southbound carriageway are believed to be affected by the obstruction.
