A MOTORIST is facing prosecution before the courts after they were detected travelling at high speed on one of the busiest roads in the country.
According to gardai, the driver was arrested following a detection on the N7 close to Naas in County Kildare.
In a post on social media, gardai said members of the Roads Policing Unit were carrying out a speed check when they detected a vehicle which was travelling at 188km/h in a 100km/h zone.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was subsequently arrested and charged.

They are due to appear before the courts in the coming weeks.
