BREAKING: 20-year-old motorcyclist in critical condition after Athy collision

A 20-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition following a serious collision with a car. 

According to Gardaí, the incident occurred on the R418 at Fontstown Cross between Athy and Kilcullen, Co Kildare yesterday (Friday October 27) shortly after 9.20pm. 

The motorcyclist was removed from the scene by ambulance to Tallaght University Hospital, while the occupants of the car were reportedly unharmed. 

A full examination of the crash site will be conducted by Garda Forensic Collison Investigators and local diversions are currently in place. 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly those with camera footage from along the route at the time of the collision, and dash-cam footage.
