Kildare gardaí are currently investigating an attempted robbery incident which occurred at a commercial premises in Newbridge.
When asked about the incident by the Leinster Leader, a garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Newbridge received a report of an incident involving an offensive weapon at a commercial premises on Henry Street, Newbridge, County Kildare at approximately 4.55pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
"Gardaí attended the scene, where a knife was recovered and seized."
"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson concluded.
