Murals have been proposed for two locations within the Market Square area of Kildare town.
Two separate planning permission documents lodged with Kildare County Council show that the Kildare town Projects Group intends to paint murals on the McHugh's Pharmacy and Firecastle buildings.
For the McHugh's Pharmacy building, the Projects Group is seeking permission for a painted art mural to commemorate St Brigid to the external facade of McHughs Pharmacy, facing the Station Road and the Market Square, and all associated works.
The application notes that the building is located within the Kildare town Architectural Conservation Area.
For the Firecastle building, the Projects Group is seeking permission for a painted art mural to commemorate St Brigid, to the external facade of Firecastle facing Firecastle Lane and the Market Square, and all associated works.
Similar to the first application, this application also notes that the building is located within the Kildare town Architectural Conservation Area.
For both applications, the dates received are listed as December 19, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as January 31 and February 21 respectively.
