Electric vehicle charge points could be on the way for this County Kildare service station

Electric vehicle (EV) charge points could be on the way for the Circle K service station located on the Dublin Road in Athy.

A planning permission application has been lodged by Ard Services Limited in relation to the proposed development, which has an Eircode listed as R14 T254.

According to the application, the proposed development would consist of a high-power EV charging points and associated infrastructure, consisting of the following:

  • The installation of eight-EV charging bays and four-charging units, replacing seven-existing car parking spaces
  • The installation of a new modular substation
  • Associated revisions to existing car parking spaces and landscaped area
  • The relocation of the existing launderette unit
  • The erection of associated signage
  • Lastly, all associated site development works including lighting, drainage infrastructure and line marking.

The date received on the application is listed as February 23 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed on the application as 'null.'

The business information website SoloCheck.ie shows that Ard Services Ltd was established in 1993.

It also trades under a number of names, including Circle K, Topaz, Fareplay, Shell and Harry's Top Shop.

The company has its primary activity listed as 'financial intermediation, except insurance and pension funding.'

Ard Services Ltd's largest company shareholder is listed as Circle K Ireland Holding Limited.
