Gardaí in County Kildare are investigating an incident in which an elderly man was robbed by two women in Newbridge.
The matter was discussed by Garda Brian Carroll when he appeared on KFM Radio this morning.
Gda Carroll told host Eoin Beatty that the robbery occurred in the Old Connell region of Newbridge on Thursday, March 28 last at around 5pm.
He said that an elderly male who had just collected his pension was robbed by two women, who stole a a sum of cash from him.
According to Gda Carroll, the first woman is described as being around 5 foot 7 inches in height and was wearing a black jacket, while the second woman is described as being of similar height, with fair hair and was wearing a brown jacket at the time.
Gda Carroll concluded by saying that anyone who has information in relation to the incident can contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440 180.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí are investigating a robbery from a person which occurred in the Old Connell area of Newbridge, County Kildare on Thursday, March 28, 2024.
"The incident occurred at approximately 5pm."
"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson concluded.
