Kildare County Council (KCC) has announced that upgrade works are due to commence shortly in one North Kildare region.
Glas Civil Engineering Limited will be commencing works on the Royal Canal Greenway scheme from Louisa Bridge, Leixlip to Maynooth Harbour from the May 9, 2024.
KCC elaborated: "From the May 9, 2024 for approximately eight weeks, access from the greenway / towpath to the R148 at Louisa Bridge will be closed to the public to facilitate the upgrade works.
"Upgrade works will also be carried out on the R148 road at Louisa Bridge during this time.
"Traffic management with a periodic stop/go shuttle system will be in place for a period for these works."
