EuroMillions players in Kildare are being urged to check their tickets from last night’s draw very carefully after one player scooped the top prize of €500,000 in Tuesday’s Plus draw.
The winner became the 10th EuroMillions Plus top prize winner of the year after purchasing their winning Quick Pick ticket on Monday, May 27, at the Easons & Sons store located in the Whitewater Shopping Centre in Newbridge.
The winning numbers in the Tuesday, May 28 EuroMillions Plus draw were: 09, 17, 20, 36 and 41.
According to a spokesperson for the National Lottery, the winner, who now has a ticket worth €500,000, is advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe.
"They should contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to visit Lotto HQ to collect their prize," the spokesperson said: "As there was no outright winner of the €47,755,445 jackpot on offer in Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw, Friday’s jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €60 million."
OTHER WINNERS
Meanwhile, two players from Counties Louth and Dublin were thrilled to make the trip to the Winners Room to claim their prizes which they won online over the past week.
The Louth player became the first top prize winner on the new Digital Winning Streak Instant Win game which costs €3 per play.
The online winner admitted that they initially thought their prize was worth a lot less than the €50,000 top prize but got a pleasant surprise when they realized their winning amount.
They explained: "I had played the game once before and on my first play, I won €3. I decided to give it another go and first the winning amount that popped up was €50 and then the digits changed to €500 and then €5,000 before settling on €50,000. It definitely felt like time was slowing down between each of those shuffles!
"It was some shock as I would have been happy with the lower amounts since I never expected to see the top prize amount there on my phone screen.
"I couldn’t believe it, so I was straight on the phone to the Claims team to confirm that I wasn’t seeing things.
"I’m thrilled to make a trip to the Winners Room and you never know, maybe I could be back again.
"The next thing to do is to plan how to celebrate this unexpected win!"
Saturday night’s Lotto 5-4-3-2-1 draw gave an online player in Dublin plenty to celebrate after they scooped €40,000.
This lucky winner said: "I have never won anything like this before. I’d say €3 is the most I have ever won so when I got the email to say that I won big on Saturday night, I logged into my account immediately to check my ticket.
"I looked at my online wallet as that’s usually where my winnings go but I could see there was no change to my balance.
"I clicked on my ticket and there it was, €40,000!
"To be honest, I only play now and again when I think of it. I wouldn’t be a regular player so this wasn’t how I envisioned my weekend going at all!
"My ticket cost just €1 and for that, here I am sitting with a cheque worth €40,000... it just doesn’t seem real at all."
According to the National Lottery, in total, more than €6 billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 36 years ago.
The organisation added that in 2022 alone, €259.5 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
