An investigation has been launched by An Garda Síochána (AGS) after a car was set on fire in Naas.
Commenting on the incident, Garda Shane Smyth told KFM yesterday that at around 11.25pm on Wednesday, July 3 last, the car in question was set on fire in the Whitethorn Crescent region of Naas.
He explained that two male suspects were spotted fleeing from the scene, in the direction of the nearby Elsmore estate.
"It is believed that the two suspects fled in a small, blue, hatchback car," Gda Smyth added.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a spokesperson for AGS said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire which occurred at a residence in Naas, County Kildare on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
"The incident occurred at approximately 11.25pm.
"The local fire service extinguished the fire."
The spokesperson concluded: "Investigations are ongoing."
