Oana Smau of Celbridge,
Tributes have been pouring for a mum of three who died one month after being diagnosed with cancer.
Oana Smau of Celbridge, Co Kildare and formerly of Romania, passed away suddenly on July 31 surrounded by her family at The Mater Hospital.
A month earlier, she had been diagnosed with lung cancer, which spread quickly.
A GoFundMe campaign, to which you can donate here, has been set up to help her family with funeral costs.
Since the tragic news broke out, tributes have been pouring in for Oana, who has been described as a fighter.
Her daughter, Diana, paid tribute to her on the fundraiser page: “She was and always will be the strongest woman I know and has also made me to be a strong woman just like her. For the last 14 years, she has raised me and my two younger brothers alone after my father’s tragic passing.
“She endured so much pain throughout her whole life but she was a fighter. Even now, the last few days in ICU, she fought for longer than any of the doctors would’ve expected with her lungs deteriorating so quickly.”
Oana left behind her three children. The funds raised will go towards her funeral costs, as well as to help them support themselves.
Beloved wife of the late Ion (Nelu), much loved mother of Diana, Patrick and Brian and daughter of Victoria.
Oana will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends.
She will be reposing at her home on Friday evening, August 2 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral service in Biserica Ortodoxă "Sfântul Columba" Dublin II, Blakestown, Dublin 15 on Saturday, August 3 at 10am followed by burial in Mulhuddart Cemetery.
