An Garda Síochána (AGS) is seeking witnesses following a public order incident near the Kildare-Dublin border which involved a suspected firearm.
Commenting on the nature of the incident, a spokesperson for AGS said: "Gardaí in Clondalkin are seeking witnesses following a public order incident involving a suspected firearm in Rathcoole on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
"At approximately 10pm, Gardaí responded to reports of a male armed with a firearm threatening three individuals during a public order incident outside a licensed premises on Main Street in Rathcoole, County Dublin.
"On arrival of Gardaí, those involved had left the immediate area and no firearm was recovered.
"It is understood that no shots were fired and there were no reports of injuries."
The spokesperson continued: "Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
"They are also asking anyone with camera footage, including dashcam recordings from Main Street, Rathcoole, between 9:30pm and 10:30pm, on Saturday September 28 last, to contact them."
"Anyone with information is urged to contact Clondalkin Garda Station at 01 666 7600, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station," the spokesperson concluded.
