A married couple who pleaded guilty to committing a number of shoplifting offences at the Kildare Village Retail Outlet have left Ireland.

Defending solicitor Brian Larkin provided Judge Desmond Zaidan with an update about his clients during a court session heard at Naas District Court on Thursday, October 3 last.

Mr Larkin was representing Denis Igoe, 30, and Pamela Igoe, 29, both with an address listed as Pairc na Coille, Showgrounds Road in Ennis, County Clare, but who have since left Ireland.

"They have gone to Romania, and won’t be returning to Ireland," Mr Larkin told Judge Zaidan.

The duo had admitted to stealing from a number of shops in Kildare Village (near Kildare town) on May 1, 2022.

Ms Igoe was also charged with having a de-tagger on her person on the date in question.

A garda who was present also informed the judge that the case had previously been 'in the last few times for sentencing.'

The judge issued a bench warrant for the couple, own bond €200 each, estreat bail, which refers to when the State makes a legal demand for the money to be paid, and two days in custody by default if they cannot pay the amount owed.
