Talented Kildare makers set to feature at Ireland's largest craft fair

Sarah’s Simulacrum’s Daschund through the Snow will feature at Gifted, the Contemporary Craft and Design Fair, at Dublin's RDS from December 4 to 8, with 35,000 visitors expected over the five days

From adorable handmade greeting cards to prints and “geeky” crafts,  talented Kildare makers are set to feature their work at Ireland’s largest and most iconic Christmas craft fair.

The best and brightest Kildare crafters will appear alongside 300 designers and makers and over 100 artisan food producers when Gifted, The Contemporary Craft and Design Fair returns to Dublin’s RDS, from December 4-8.

Rathangan-based Laura Dempsey is bringing Pickled Pom Pom to Gifted, an extensive collection of Irish designed and Irish made cards, prints and decorative goodies.

Laura designs and illustrates a range of cards, prints, partyware and decor to celebrate life's moments - big and small, from her studio in Kildare.

“It's not always easy to say how you feel, Pickled Pom Pom are here to try to make it a bit easier by prompting them with our words and illustrations and to emphasise the joy a handwritten card can have,” she said.

Maynooth woman Sarah Bevan will also be flying the flag for Kildare at Gifted, with Sarah’s Simulacrum, a quirky and colourful collection of gifts and greeting cards.

Whether you're looking for cards, keyrings, badges, stickers, or more, the stand will have something to make your heart—and your geeky side—buzz with joy.

Gifted is Ireland’s biggest Christmas craft, design and artisan food fair – a full day out where attendees can meet the makers, enjoy demonstrations and workshops, all while finding unique quality gifts for their loved ones and stocking up on tasty festive foods.

“The very essence of what Gifted stands for is celebrating and elevating local talent,” said organiser Patrick O’Sullivan.

“The Fair is a unique opportunity to meet hundreds of makers and artisan food producers and discover thousands of original gift ideas for everyone on your list. You won’t find a bigger selection of unique, handmade products under one roof anywhere in Ireland.

“The Fair is a huge boost to the independent creative sector, it is vital to the industry as a whole and it is estimated that it generates enough business to keep many exhibitors busy for at least four months of the year.”

On Wednesday, December 4 there is 10% off all purchases at the Fair, making it a great day to attend if you have a long list of Christmas presents to pick up.

Gifted, the Contemporary Craft and Design Fair, will take place at Dublin's RDS from Wednesday, December 4 to Sunday, December 8, with late night shopping from Wednesday-Friday until 9pm. Full details and booking can be found at www.giftedfair.ie
