Kildare County Council’s Arts Service was honoured to attend a special reception with President Michael D. Higgins and Sabina Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin on St Patrick’s Day.

This annual reception, hosted by President and Sabina Higgins, marks St. Patrick’s Day and welcomes groups and individuals who have made significant contributions to Irish society.

This year, the event celebrated the President’s initiative, 'Samhlaíocht agus An Náisiún – Imagination and The Nation’ which highlights the powerful and transformative role of art and creativity in the evolution of Ireland as a republic and an idea.

Kildare County Council Arts Service was represented by Eláine Donnelly, Acting Arts Officer, who attended alongside Arts Officers from across the country, as well as artists and community groups.

Members of Leixlip’s CCÉ Craobh Bheartla Uí Fhlatharta performed for the President and Mrs Higgins, showcasing the rich tradition of Irish music and culture in Kildare.
