Kildare defeated Antrim this afternoon to top Division 3 of the AFL, gain promotion, top the table and now take on Offaly next Saturday in the divisional final.
Eleven points the difference and when you consider Kildare trailed by five at half-time, no less than six two-pointers giving the visitors to Newbridge a lot of hope.
However once The Lilies got the strong wind on their backs they took control hitting an impressive 1-17 while keeping Antrim to 1-1.
Niall Kelly with 1-4 was outstanding for Kildare while Alex Beirne hit six; Darragh Kirwan came off the bench in the second half to score five points.
For Antrim Dominic McEnhill was the first half hero hitting no less than four two-pointers (3 frees) while Fionn Nagle got a late goal for Antrim.
Overall it is job well done for Kildare, mission accomplished, promotion gained and off to Croker next Saturday.
