Garda information appeal launched following burglary of Londis store in Kildare

Members of An Garda Síochána (AGS) based in County Kildare have launched an appeal for information following the burglary of a Londis store.

The incident was highlighted by a member of AGS who appeared on a KFM radio programme yesterday (June 4 last).

Garda Lenny Donnellan of the Kilcock / Carbury Garda Division told host Eoin Beatty that the crime occurred at the Londis store located on New Street, Rathangan, in the early hours of on Saturday, May 31 last.

He explained that the perpetrator(s) "kicked in" the front glass panel of the front door and proceeded to gain entry into the premises.

Gda Donnellan added that a "quantity of [bank] notes" were stolen from the premises, along with one of the till machines.

He concluded by urging anyone with information about the incident to contact their local garda station.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this particular crime, a spokesperson for AGS responded: "Gardaí are investigating the burglary of a retail premises in Rathangan, County Kildare on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at approximately, 5.10am.

"The premises was closed during the course of this incident.

"During the course of this incident, a sum of cash was taken from the premises.

"No arrests have been made."

The spokesperson concluded: "Investigation is ongoing."
