The late Paula Whoriskey
Tributes flooded in last week when word came of the passing of much loved Newbridge woman, Paula Whoriskey (née Coffey).
Paula passed away on July 18 and her funeral mass took place last Wednesday, July 23 at Conleth's Parish Church. She was laid to rest at St Conleth's Cemetery.
Paula, who lived at Connell Drive, Newbridge, was the loving mother of the late Gary. She will be sadly missed her loving husband Liam, son Shane, brothers and sisters Ray, Joan, Anne, Brian, Ken, Cora and Noreen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.
In a Facebook post, Moorefield Pharmacy expressed it's deep sadness at the death of their staff member.
"Paula was so much more than a colleague to us here. She was full of light, laughter and fun. She has given us all years of memories, and had us in stitches every day, even when it seemed there wasn’t much reason for a smile. She was the first to pick you up if you were down and even if someone was new she’d take them under her wing. Words can’t express the void she left and the impact she has had on all of us. Rest in peace Paula, you were the very best of us."
Sarsfields GAA Club also added to the tributes.
"Sarsfields GAA send condolences to the family of Paula Whoriskey who sadly passed away. Paula is a sister of former Sarsfields footballers Ray and Ken Coffey. May Paula Rest in Peace."

She had a fantastic sense of humour and would always entertain with a big smile on her face. Rest peacefully now Paula your memory will always shine brightly, Rest in Peace."
Senator Fiona O'Loughlin highlighted Paula's involvement in the Badlippspringe twinning project and the Bealtaine Festival.
"To know Paula was to know warmth and love. Her laughter and wit had a way of filling a room, and her presence always offered comfort. She faced life with joy, courage and compassion, and through her example, taught us what it truly means to care," she wrote.
"To those of us who had the privilege of being her friend- and there were many, Paula had a kind heart,a joyful soul, and was full of craic- as evidenced by Noreen’s eulogy at Paula’s funeral mass. Her legacy lives on in the friendships she nurtured, the traditions she upheld, and the community she helped shape.Paula may be gone from our sight, but she will remain ever present in our stories, our memories, and the love she gave so freely."
