18 people treated on trolleys today at Kildare's main hospital

No patients on trolleys at some other hospitals

Naas hospital urges patients to get medical care elsewhere due to overcrowding

Some 18 people were treated on trolleys today at Naas Hospital, having been admitted through the accident and emergency department.

Only two hospitals in the eastern region - the Mater and St Vincent's - had more patients on trolleys (22 each).

There were no patients on trolleys at Tallaght Hospital or at Tullamore Hospital. There were eight people on trolleys at Portlaoise Hospital.
