Two Kildare photographers, Raluca Lica from Narraghmore and John Walsh from Sallins, won and were nominated in the 2025 Reach for the Stars competition.
Raluca Lica’s from Narraghmore stunning photo was selected as the winner of the Back on Earth – Landscape category in this year’s Reach for the Stars competition organised by the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS).
Sallins man John Walsh’s stunning photo (below) was shortlisted in the Out of this World – Deep Sky category in this year’s competition.
Reach for the Stars is Ireland’s biggest astrophotography competition, and this year saw more than 170 entries from photographers across Ireland. The winning entries and a selection of the shortlisted images are currently on public display outside DIAS HQ on Burlington Road, Dublin 2.
