A Compulsory Purchase Order relating to one well-known County Kildare site has been confirmed by Kildare County Council (KCC).
The acquisition was made official by KCC at the most recent Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which was heard on Wednesday, September 17 last.
At this meeting, Social Democrats councillor Chris Pender asked KCC to provide an update on the Compulsory Purchase Order in relation to O'Modhráin Hall in Newbridge. He also asked KCC to "advise if any delays or issues have arisen".
Previously, the site, which remains derelict on Cutlery Road, was sold in 2017 to a developer by the trustees.

Cllr Pender himself also urged KCC to secure the site back in October of 2023.
In response, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting: "The Compulsory Acquisition of Ó Modhráin Hall, Newbridge is now complete.
"The vesting date for the property title to transfer to Kildare County Council was September 3 last."
KCC added that its Town Regeneration Team are currently awaiting confirmation of title transfer from Tailte Éireann, which is a state agency in Ireland which is responsible for property registrations / valuations, as well as national mapping services.
