A Social Democrats councillor has asked the council what plans are in place to minimise traffic disruption to residents due to Uisce Éireann works with the prolonged planned road closure on the L1014, Leixlip, Kildare.

Cllr Nuala Killeen put forward her question at this month's meeting of Celbridge Leixlip Municipal District, held on Friday, September 19 2025.

A report issued by Kildare County Council stated that Uisce Éireann has developed a work sequence to minimise disruption “as much as possible” to road users.
