Good news as Monasterevin Market Square revamp plan gets €163,909 funding boost
There's been a broad welcome for yesterday's news that Monasterevin is to get a €163,909 funding boost for the redevelopment of Market Square.
"Some wonderful news today for Monasterevin with €163,909 being allocated to Kildare County Council for the regeneration of the Market Square under Government’s Rural Regeneration Fund," said Cllr Kevin Duffy.
"This will project redefine the Market Square as a vibrant, accessible, multi functional public space that supports local economic activity and community events. As the only funding allocation for County Kildare this is a huge achievement for Monasterevin.
Along with the planned Textile Hub this is a fantastic investment in our town."
Deputy Martin Heydon said: "Working with my colleague Cllr Kevin Duffy we have fought for continued investment into key projects in Monasterevin. I welcome this progress and look forward to seeing this project and others progressed in the coming months."
Senator Fiona O'Loughlin said the funding boost was greatly welcomed by the community.
