A member of An Garda Síochána (AGS) has released a renewed appeal relating to a serious assault which took place in Kildare town last weekend.
On Sunday, October 26 last, it was reported that a serious assault occurred in Kildare town in the early hours of Sunday.
According to a AGS, a male was found unresponsive on Magee Terrace off Dublin Street at approximately 3.15am (the area is also located a short distance away from the town's garda station).
The male, who is aged in his 20s, was brought to Naas General Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
One member of AGS released a renewed appeal for information relating to the crime when he appeared on a KFM programme yesterday morning (October 29 last).
Garda Sean O'Mahony outlined the details of the case to host Hannah Kelly and urged anyone who may have information and / or video footage of the incident to contact Kildare town Garda Station on 045 527 730.
Earlier today (October 30), when asked by the Leinster Leader about the assault, a spokesperson for AGS responded: "There are no updates at this time".
"Our appeal remains outstanding," they added.
