After one supporter spotted the new look training gear for The Lilies and shared the image on X, Kildare fans voiced their disappointment with the choice of a strikingly Dublin-esque blue. The original post has been viewed by almost 70,000 people at the time of writing and came attached with the hashtag "abomination."

Other fans chipped in with "nearly twisted my neck with the double-take when I saw them" and it is easy to see why with Kildare traditionally donning stylish match-day and indeed training gear, which have now been painted the colour of at least two rivals and in particular The Dubs.

Kildare has long been snidely lumped in with Dublin by outsiders, much to the displeasure of locals, but blue gear for the county team won't do that sentiment any disservice with another fan sarcastically adding "Sure Kildare is just a suburb of the Capital."
