Wooden bollards on a ring road in Naas
Rotting wooden bollards situated along the ring roads in Naas should be removed.
Naas Mayor Seamie Moore told a Naas Municipal District committee meeting that they are “falling over on to the roads” and present a hazard for motorists.

He said the bollards, combined with concrete barriers, were put in to prevent illegal camping but are now obsolete “for the purpose intended and have instead become road obstructions as they are being illegally removed and discarded.”
He said the bollards can “look like a body” in the distance to approaching drivers.
According to Kildare County Council a large section of bollards was removed at the end of last year along the ring road from Kerry Group to Newhall roundabout. It hopes more will be removed.
