An unaccompanied learner permit holder was stopped travelling at 150km/h in a 120km/h zone by Naas RPU (Naas Roads Policing Unit) on a motorway in Kildare recently.
The vehicle had no L-plates displayed, and learner drivers are not permitted to drive on motorways.
The driver's car was seized, with impound fees applied.
Fixed Charge Penalty Notices (FCPNs) were also issued to the driver.
A Kildare Garda spokesperson noted: “Road Safety is everyone's responsibility – please drive safely and within the law.”
Meanwhile, earlier this week Naas RPU stopped a vehicle which had:

No license
No tax (4 years overdue)
