A bog in County Kildare is being plagued by "high levels of persistent dumping".
That's according to one local representative, who made the comments at the latest Athy Municipal District meeting, which occurred earlier today (December 8).
While in attendance at this meeting, Labour Party councillor Mark Leigh asked Kildare County Council (KCC) to "investigate the possibility of installing CCTV in the Blackwood Bog area, due to high levels of persistent dumping".
Responding to his query, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting that it would investigate the possibility of installing CCTV in the bog.
KCC added that it "would welcome an opportunity to discuss further with the councillor(s)".
Following on from this comment, KCC told Cllr Leigh: "It might be helpful to meet on site to consider the options."
