The gardaí must arrest those who breach orders granted in the family law courts.

Judge Desmond Zaidan said, at Naas District Court, that any breach must be investigated.

He was speaking after a woman, who had been granted a temporary protection order, came back to court seeking a barring order against her former husband, who was not present or represented.

The woman told the court she had been advised by a garda to seek a barring order.

She claims he breaks into the house and puts her in fear.

She also claimed the man had broken things in the house.

The judge adjourned the matter.
