Kildare's Sharon Sexton brings flavour of West End to the Moat Theatre

Since then, Sharon’s career has soared. She has become a familiar face on the West End stage, most celebrated for originating the role of Sloane in Bat Out of Hell, working directly with Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf. The show toured internationally, playing to packed arenas across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Germany, before completing a major UK tour. Dublin audiences will remember its celebrated run at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, where Sharon also won rave reviews when she starred in the international production of Mamma Mia!(2019) as Donna.

Her extensive credits include leading roles such as A Night with Janis Joplin in London’s West End, working with Elton John onBilly Elliot the Musical, and most recently portraying Mary Magdalene inJesus Christ Superstar in Germany with the Bergisch Symphonic Orchestra.

She has toured the UK as a solosit with ABBA Symphonic, and the hit show Defying Gravity, and also had a run of sold out headline concerts the infamous, Crazy Coqs venue, in Piccadilly Circus, London, where she recently launched her first debut album with her on and offstage partner, Rob Fowler.

February's special homecoming concert promises an eclectic mix of musical theatre favourites from Sharon’s acclaimed career, deep cuts from her personal archive, and songs she dreams of performing in the future. Between numbers, Sharon will share stories, memories, and reflections from her remarkable journey—from Naas to the West End and far beyond.
