Well-known Kildare hotel proposes construction of 53 extra bedrooms

A well-known County Kildare hotel has announced its intention to construct 53 extra bedrooms on its grounds.

Keadeen Hotel Management Company Limited is seeking planning permission from Kildare County Council (KCC) to construct the new rooms at The Keadeen Hotel, which is situated in the Ballymany region of Newbridge.

According to the description contained within the application, the development would consist of the construction of a two-storey extension to provide an additional 53 bedrooms, which would increase the total number from 69 to 122 bedrooms.

In addition, the business is seeking permission from KCC to make the following changes:

  • To make alterations to the existing main entrance to provide a glazed canopy structure and entrance portico
  • A proposed covered walkway linking the main entrance to the extension entrance
  • An extension to the existing bar and lounge area
  • A proposed marquee type structure within the existing garden
  • The removal of amphitheatre type outdoor ceremony area
  • A proposed gardener’s shed
  • The reconfiguration of the existing surface car parking on site along with additional parking, increasing the total number of spaces from 252 to 272, including EV charging and accessible parking spaces

Lastly, Keadeen Hotel Management Company Ltd is seeking permission for all associated site development works.

The date received is listed as December 12 last.

However, both the submission-by and due dates are listed as "null".

The business information website SoloCheck.ie notes that Keadeen Hotel Management Company Ltd has a registered address listed as Ground Floor, Block 2/3, Quayside Business Park, Mill Street, Dundalk, County Louth (A91 N26Y).
