HSE Dublin and Midlands will hold free walk in clinics offering the children’s nasal flu vaccine (LAIV) in Kildare and South Dublin. These pop up clinics are designed to make vaccination more accessible for families during the busy festive period.
The LAIV (Live Attenuated Influenza Vaccine) nasal spray is a quick, painless spray administered into each nostril, offering children aged 2–17 years effective protection against winter flu.
Dr Fionnuala Cooney, Regional Director of Public Health for HSE Dublin and Midlands said: “Flu can be serious for children and those around them. These walk in clinics provide a convenient opportunity for parents to protect their children and help reduce the spread of flu in our communities.”
