Gardaí based in County Kildare are investigating the theft of an e-scooter which occurred near a popular shopping location in Newbridge.

Details of the incident were read out on KFM yesterday (December 17 last) by Garda Sarah O'Sullivan, who appeared on one of the station's programmes as a guest.

She told host Hannah Kelly that the incident occurred "just outside" the Penneys shopping outlet, which is located on Edward Street, on Sunday, December 14 last.

Gda O'Sullivan added that the e-scooter that was stolen was a black M4 model.

Gda O'Sullivan concluded by urging anyone with information relating to this crime to contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440 180.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged unauthorised taking of an e-scooter in Newbridge, County Kildare, on Sunday, December 14 last that occurred between the hours of 3pm and 8pm."

The spokesperson added that the investigation is ongoing.
