Athy management step away after Leinster final and Kildare Championship-winning season

The news is a blow for the Kildare champions who see joint-managers, Ross Bell and Conor Ronan, step away along with Paddy Dunne

Kildare GAA: Successive Athy management step aside

Athy Senior Football Joint Managers Ross Bell and Conor Ronan

The Athy GAA Management team, who led their side to Kildare SFC glory this season, going on to advance to the Leinster Club Senior semi-final have stepped aside.

After just one season in charge, Ross Bell, Conor Ronan, along with Paddy Dunne, have stepped away, a move that is certainly a major blow to Athy. Ironically this was the first time the group took charge of a team at this level and they certainly proved a massive success.

It is understood that time constraints, work commitments, and lads with very young families, have meant that the group have informed the club they will not be in charge come 2026.

No doubt there will be huge interest in this particular job, Athy have enjoyed a brilliant season, played some great football, and, along with their experienced players, have some exceptional young players amongst their squad.

Athy said of the news, "We wish Ross, Conor and Paddy all the best and thank them for their co-operation throughout the season, always available when called upon, before, and after games, win or lose."
