Gardaí based in County Kildare are investigating an assault which occurred at a train station in Kildare.
Details of the crime were highlighted on KFM by Garda Sarah O'Sullivan, who made a guest appearance on one of the station's programmes earlier today (January 14).
She told host Hannah Kelly that the incident occurred at Athy Train Station on Saturday, January 10 last, at around 5.30pm.
Gda O'Sullivan explained that a verbal dispute broke out on a train between members of the public and "eight or nine youths".
She added that one member of the public, who left the train shortly after the incident, had a "projectile" thrown at them by one of the youths.

Gda O'Sullivan concluded by urging anyone with information relating to this crime to contact Athy Garda Station on 059 863 4210.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí received a report of an assault at Athy Train Station, County Kildare on Saturday, January 10 last at approximately 5.30pm.
"No injuries were reported."
The spokesperson added that investigations into this matter are ongoing.
