A male juvenile was arrested in County Kildare following the alleged theft of cash from an elderly male.
The incident, which occurred on the Main Street of Naas, was detailed by Garda Sarah O'Sullivan during a guest appearance on KFM yesterday (January 14 last).
She explained that the juvenile had allegedly stolen money from the injured party (whom KFM described as a male "believed to be in his 80s" in a separate online report) on the afternoon of Friday, January 9 last.
However, one witness of the crime provided a description of the suspected perpetrator to local gardaí, while another managed to follow the suspected perpetrator back to a nearby address.

Following the assistance of these two witnesses, gardaí were able to locate the suspected perpetrator and arrested him.
The money belonging to the injured party was recovered and subsequently returned to him.
Gda O'Sullivan also expressed gratitude to the two witnesses, and described the handling of the situation as "a great example of the public working together with An Garda Síochána".
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged incident of theft from a person that occurred in Naas, County Kildare on January 9 last at approximately 1pm.
"A male in his late teens was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984."
The spokesperson added that the investigation is ongoing.
