An Garda Síochána Kildare recently came across a vehicle parked illegally in a disabled bay in Kildare Town.

A Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN) of €150 was issued.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Let’s be clear — these spaces are vital, limited, and not optional. They exist for people who truly need them, not for convenience or 'just a minute.'

While awareness is always our goal, enforcement will follow when needed. A lack of consideration has real consequences for others.

Respect disabled parking bays, respect our community, and help keep our town accessible for everyone. There will be Zero tolerance for misuse.

Thank you to those who do the right thing.”
