Good news for house hunters with 66 new homes in this Kildare area

The residential development is at Millview Demesne in Rathangan, Co. Kildare.

Construction has begun on a major €13 million residential development at Millview Demesne in Rathangan, Co. Kildare.

The project will deliver 66 new homes on a 2.72-hectare site, with a total floor area of 8,127 square metres. The development is being carried out by Oakway Homes (Dublin) and has been designed by KBM Architects Ltd.

Planning permission for the overall scheme was granted by Kildare County Council in May 2024, following an application lodged in September 2023. The development is being built in phases.

Phase one, which began on December 19, 2025, includes the construction of 35 dwellings and a creche facility. 

Phase 2A got underway on February 26, 2026, and will see the construction of six additional dwellings, covering house numbers 107–112 (Units 62–66).

The full residential scheme consists of a mix of housing types, including 28 four-bedroom semi-detached two-storey homes. There will also be 16 three-bedroom semi-detached two-storey dwellings.

Terraced homes form part of the mix, including one three-bedroom end-terrace, eight three-bedroom mid-terrace units, and seven three-bedroom end-terrace units.

The development also provides for two one-bedroom ground floor maisonettes and two two-storey, two-bedroom duplex maisonettes .

Access to the new homes will be through the existing Millview Demesne housing development.

A creche forms part of phase one, supporting the needs of incoming families in the growing Rathangan area.
