Overcrowding was more pronouced at two Dublin facilities

A dozen people were treated on trolleys at Naas Hospital today, having been admitted though the accident and emergency department.

However the most overcrowded hospital in the eastern region was the Mater Hospital which had 43 people on trolleys, followed by St Vincent's Hospital with one less.

There were no patients on trolleys at Tullamore Hospital while Portlaoise had four.
