Man who allegedly breached family law order had three prison visits from his partner, Kildare court told

A man who allegedly breached a family law order has been visited in prison by his partner, Naas District Court was told.

Solicitor Chloe Donegan stated that the woman has visited him three times in nine months.

Ms Donegan applied to have the matter struck out.

Sgt Mary Meade indicated that the woman had made a statement indicating that she would withdraw her statement.

However the sergeant added: “However, we’re of the view that he still has a case to answer.”

At a previous hedging Tim Kennelly, solicitor, sought to have the matter struck out. 

He said the woman might not proceed with the case and had visited the man in prison. He said if the matter was struck out the State could re-enter it at a later date.

Sgt Dave Hanrahan said there were two alleged breaches of a court order and the man was denied bail in the district court and the high court. He also said the case file is with the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The matter was adjourned by Judge Desmond Zaidan.
