The Sallins Drama Society is holding an open night at Sallins Community Centre, Kildare from 8pm, on Friday, April 24th.
The event is for existing members or the society, and for anyone in the area that may be interested in getting involved. New members are always welcome by the group.
On the night, the society will show clips from previous production, try some fun improv games, discuss future productions and events, and get to know each other.
Sallins Drama Society was founded by community members in 2019, following the success and enjoyment of a Sallins GAA fundraiser, known as The Oskars. The first play staged by the newly formed group, in September 2019, was ‘Wake in The West’. It was performed upstairs at J.P Healy’s.

In 2021, full-length play ‘Second Honeymoon’ was staged at the same venue. In 2022, the society moved to the community centre and, to date, have held five more shows. They have also performed at The Moat Theatre and toured the country with the acclaimed ‘Soldier Field’ production.
This May (14th to 16th), the society is staging three nights of One-Act comedies, ‘A Night Watchman’ and the Irish premiere of ‘Knock Knock’.
Anyone interested in getting involved - especially with the society’s upcoming One-Act plays - you are very welcome to come along. Feel free to bring a friend who might be interested in joining the vibrant and welcoming group.
Sallins Drama Society looks forward to seeing you there and sharing another fantastic season together.
