Gardaí in Kilkenny received a report of an assault on Hebron Road in Kilkenny City in the early hours of Sunday morning.
An ambulance was called for a man in his late teens after he was assaulted by a group of men between 2am and 2.30am.
The man received a punch to the face.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Hebron Road around that time and may have footage of the incident to contact Kilkenny Garda Station.
