Shooters interrupted by animal rights protesters in Kilkenny

An 'authorised vermin shooting day' was interrupted yesterday (Sunday) by animal rights protesters in County Kilkenny.

Protesters visited Jenkinstown and Tower Woods on the day and created loud noises to disturb shooters, confronting some directly.

The National Animal Rights Association then released a statement claiming joint-responsibility for the protest, alongside 'Leinster Hunt Saboteurs' and the vegan collaborative 'veghuns'.

The shooting event has been a regular fixture in the Kilkenny shooting calendar for decades.
