Fionn was the mascot of the 3rd Infantry Battalion
Kilkenny's 3 Inf Battalion has announced the death of its old battalion mascot, Fionn the Irish Wolfhound.
Fionn was a gentle giant and faithful companion who attended many events around Kilkenny over the years. Cpl Fionn was adored by his handler Pte James Dooley, and was very popular particularly when visiting local schools or at community outings.

The Battalion posted a tribute on social media paying tribute and describing Fionn as an Irish Wolfhound, in the tradition of the Fianna and regimental dogs in Stephens Bks.
