Kilkenny Community Orchestra will be performing this Saturday (May 13) at 8pm at St Marys Cathedral, James Street, Kilkenny. The programme will include popular pieces by Cimarosa, Stamitz, Mendelssohn, Saint Saens, Johann Strauss, John Field, and Bartok . Tickets are not required but donations are welcome.

Kilkenny Community Orchestra is a group of amateur musicians of all levels of ability from Kilkenny, Carlow and neighbouring counties and is supported by KCETB.  The aim is to bring good live music to all members of the community – the orchestra performed last week for the residents of Tinny Park Nursing Home.

Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings during term-time at the Kilkenny School of Music, Ormonde Road, Kilkenny. New members are always welcome. Anyone interested in joining should talk to a member of the group at the concert, or contact via Facebook Kilkenny Community Orchestra.
