"Thugs are throwing stones at cars on the link road between the Callan Road and the Circular Road in Kilkenny."
That's according to councillor Eugene McGuinness, who made the remark at this month's full meeting of Kilkenny County Council.
"People are not using the road as a result," he told fellow elected members and council officials.
His comments followed a presentation on the progress being made on housing and infrastructure delivery in the Breagagh Valley area of Kilkenny City.
Director of Services at Kilkenny County Council, Tim Butler, stated that he had not been made aware of the issue but will raise it with gardaí.
