Kilkenny students bound for ESB Science Blast in Limerick

Kilkenny primary school children bound for ESB Science Blast in Limerick

Children from primary schools across Kilkenny are set to head to Mary Immaculate College in Limerick next week for ESB Science Blast, starting on May 23.

ESB Science Blast, delivered by the RDS, is a STEM-focused education programme involving whole classes investigating the science behind a simple question.

Investigations being carried out by primary school students in Kilkenny include:

  1. Presentation Convent National School, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny: Does listening to music have an impact on our daily runs?
  2. St. Canice’s Co-Ed National School, Kilkenny, Co. Kilkenny: How many times do you have to listen to a song to learn it?

Now in its fifth year, over 45,000 children have participated in ESB Science Blast to-date, making it the largest primary school programme on the island of Ireland.

Best of luck to the local schools involved!
