ALERT: Huge disruptions to water supplies across Kilkenny today

Water outages are ompacting communities right across the length and breadth of Kilkenny today (Wednesday).

Clogh and Castlecomer, a very large catchment area, is expected to be without water until approximately 1pm.

This is due to a number of issues including the current dry spell, a burst on the mains in Castlecomer and upgrade works on the plant.

Network leak repairs are also expected to impact areas including Bishopslough, Dungarvan, Tullaherin, Kilmanaheen, Castlefield, Ballyhale and Knocktopher Manor in County Kilkenny until approximately 12 noon.

Water in the Rathduff area will be switched off for slightly longer, until approximately 3pm.

Uisce Eireann and Kilkenny County Council apologise for any inconvenience caused.
