Jurassic Newpark
Kilkenny’s Newpark Hotel will host a birthday bash on Saturday, June 17 celebrating one-year since their hugely popular.
Over the past year, the park has doubled in size with 12 new animatronic dinosaurs, a dino-den theatre, a new fossil dig, longer park walks and a new Bounce City attraction launching mid-June.
The ultimate family fun day out of the summer is taking place on June 17 at ‘Jurassic Newpark’ a prehistoric dinosaur attraction situated on the grounds of Newpark Hotel Kilkenny.
One year on from when Jurassic Newpark was first launched, the team is hosting a prehistoric party at the park with a host of entertaining extras on hand for guests and visitors to join in the celebrations. This award winning 4 star hotel is known for having an impressive range of family friendly amenities on site for guests to enjoy. They also make these amenities available for day visitors to book tickets to explore, discover and make memories.
Beat 102103 FM will be broadcasting live from Jurassic Newpark from 12–3pm, there will also be a balloon arch, face painting, photo ops and more to mark the occasion. The hotel is also giving away free entry to the park for 25 families on the day through their social media channels and Beat 102103.
Since it was first launched in June 2022, the Jurassic Newpark attraction continues to expand with an additional 6 life-size animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar increasing the herd to 12. Species including Tyrannosaurus-Rex, Velociraptor, Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Spinosaurus, Dilophosaurus, dino eggs, and baby dinos are set amongst prehistoric style planting to create ‘habitats’ for visitors to explore and discover.
Always striving to exceed expectations the Newpark team continue to innovate, and a will launch brand-new Jurassic Bounce attraction is set to launch mid-June! This all-new prehistoric themed indoor bounce park is sure to be in high demand and will be an optional extra for visitors with a separate cost.
They have also added a dedicated team of park rangers to add to the interactive side of your visit and have built a dino-den theatre for educational and entertaining talks and shows. Learn cool fossil facts at the Dino Den where Head Ranger Luke gives five talks per day at the weekend and watch out for the puppet shows and a six-foot T-rex.
There’s also a new fossil dig sandpit with tools on hand for junior palaeontologists to make exciting discoveries and they have also increased the length of park walks, which of course all connect to the existing adventure playground which features swings, slides, tree top adventure centre and a secure zip line.
Things get magical along the fairy trail where you’ll find fairy doors, a storytelling talking tree and a wishing well! There’s also a wildlife petting farm on site, here you can make friends with llamas, alpacas, emus, highland cattle, goats, sheep, ducks, guinea fowl enjoy ‘feeding time’ on the farm, and much more.
