The weather gods certainly smiled kindly on Kilkenny Chamber’s latest event - the annual golf challenge at Mount Juliet Estate on Wednesday.
In wonderful sunshine, over 100 players in 28 teams representing a host of Kilkenny businesses and their clients took to the course, which was in world class condition.

First prize went to the team from EY, with TransferMate coming in second, followed by Carne Group in third place.
This year, a fourth prize was awarded, which went to Evans Mockler, a British team which travelled with the British Irish Trading Alliance.
The event also facilitated unique networking opportunities and saw some eight teams fielded under the BITA (British Irish Trading Alliance) banner.

“People like doing business with people they know and by bringing 100 businesspeople together in this way, the consequent effect on business relationships is tremendous," said Chamber CEO John Hurley.
"Throughout the day, business leaders chatted with each other about how they could work together to their mutual benefit and many new connections were developed.”
Chamber President Brian Keyes, who was on hand to launch the day, complimented Mount Juliet on the beautiful condition of the golf course and thanked all those who had made the effort to sign up a team for the day.

Owen Sweeney, partner with Main Sponsor PKHL, said that they were very happy to support such a successful annual event and congratulated the winners EY on a great result.
“Collaboration is a key core value of BITA," said Paul Whitnell, BITA President.
"Our relationship with Kilkenny Chamber is a great example of successful collaboration which has resulted in opportunities for local business to benefit."
Kilkenny Chamber continues to provide networking opportunities for its members and their guests. Two events will take place in June – a joint event with Kilkenny Local Enterprise Office on June 15, covering the very relevant topic of Recruiting and Retaining Your Staff, and the Chamber Chat for June takes place on Thursday, June 22 at Smithwick’s Experience at 6pm.
